Ladies with the movement to grow strong healthy hair it’s always a good idea to keep things interesting. What better way to do so than to take part in a HAIR CHALLENGE!!! When I started my HHJ doing challenges for my different hair issues kept me motivated and really helped me turn certain parts of my regimen into habits. Knowing that you are doing something to achieve a specific goal and that you are not doing it alone makes the world of difference. Hair challenges are a fun, challenging and interactive way for us to meet our hair goals one step at a time. Challenge participants give feedback on their progress and motivate each other with different tips and advice throughout the duration of the challenge and then we all get to see each other’s results at the end!
With that said I’m excited to announce the start of our very own tHs Castor Oil Growth Challenges which will run 3 times a year for 3months each. Detail on Castor Oil Challenges to follow.
Now some of you may be wondering, what is castor oil and why are we using it? The answer is because it’s my favorite oil and it’s AMAZING!! Lol. But seriously, I love castor oil for various reasons, and works wonders for our hair and scalp as black women. Here are some of the reasons below:
What is JBCO?
It is God’s gift to black women, lol and beside that it’s a natural an all purpose healing oil extracted from the castor bean using ancient methods practiced in Jamaica.
What can JBCO do for OUR hair?
It will moisturize, thicken, strengthen and rapidly increase hair growth.
- How? — By increasing blood flow to the scalp, thus supplying valuable nutrients to hair follicles. (Remember the post on hair structure? If not get reading. J ) As well as drawing in moisture from the air because it is a humectant and the fatty acids in it nourish the hair and prevent the scalp from drying by retaining moisture.
It prevents hair breakages, dandruff, eczema, dry, itchy scalp and treats thinning hair, alopecia, bald spots
- How? — It has germicidal and fungicidal properties that help protect the scalp and hair from microbial and fungal infections, the two prime causes for hair loss and dandruff. Castor oil cleans the scalp of any impurities that would inhibit maximum growth.
JBCO vs Pharmacy Castor Oil
JBCO is more effective than the clear pharmacy castor oil because of it’s ash content due to roasting of the beans. The more ash content the more effective the oil. Ps this has been scientifically proven.
*Some other benefits of JBCO are it being used as a skin treatment, (I use it on my face every day and it’s amazing), massage oil, and treatment for aches and pains.
